ANALYSIS ON THE EPIDEMIC SITUATION OF TUBERCULOSIS IN SHANDONG PROVINCE

[Objective] To analyze the status of tuberculosis,so as to provide measures for TB prevention and control in Shandong province.[Methods] The epidemic situation of tuberculosis was analyzed by using the results of the last four epidemiologic surveys for tuberculosis in 1979,1984,1990 and 2000,and the report of tuberculosis control.[Results] The prevalence of active tuberculosis for the four tuberculosis surveys were 490 /105,311 /105,198 /105 and 192 /105,respec-tively.The prevalence of smear positive were 134 /100 000,91 /100 000,60 /100 000 and 57 /100 000,respectively.The registration rate and curative rate of smear positive patients increased year by year.[Conclusion] The prevalence of tuberculosis decreased significantly.In order to control tuberculosis,we should increase government investment for TB,full scale perform TB prevention and control strategies,strengthen the management for patients,and control the drug resistance.
