Transport properties of a Mott insulator κ-(ET)2Cu2(CN)3 under the uniaxial strain

2003
Abstract Uniaxial strain was applied along the two-dimensional (2D) conducting plane of a Mott insulator κ-(ET) 2 Cu 2 (CN) 3 in order to investigate the relation between the crystal and electronic structures and the electronic properties. The strain along both of the crystal axes within the 2D conducting ( bc ) plane induced a transition from a semiconducting to a metallic state followed by a superconducting transition. By the strain along the c -axis the superconducting transition temperature raised up to 7.3 K that was much higher than that under hydrostatic pressure.
