Evolución de la poesía como propuesta para trabajar la Paz Social en Educación

Currently committed literature is called to move the conscience of the citizen and promote a strong social transformation. Through this article we intend to show the importance of poetry in the practice of Social Education, and specifically in the field of Education for Peace. We are interested in its transformative role in the reflection on Social Peace through four steps: 1) questioning (becoming aware of social inequalities); 2) make visible (put inequalities in words); 3) sensitize (move the consciousness of the other) and, finally, 4) empower (reach the transformation of the inner self in order to create a more conscious and committed society). We consider that questioning and raising awareness about social problems can not only remain external, it has to go beyond the frontier of the social to the internal, to reach a personal transformation through the poetry.
