Background: Allergy guidelines recommend intramuscular injection of epinephrine as a first-line therapy to treat anaphylaxis. In the community, epinephrine can be promptly administered with an epinephrine auto-injector (EAI). In the Unites States, the EPIPEN4SCHOOLS® program (Mylan Specialty L.P., Canonsburg, PA) provides EpiPen® (epinephrine injection) Auto-Injectors to qualifying public and private schools.
