Selective Gold Growth on CdSe Seeded CdS Nanorods

Gold growth onto CdSe seeded CdS nanorods is studied. Preferential growth of gold onto the position of the CdSe seed is identified. The mechanism of growth is assigned to an electrochemical Ostwald ripening process.
