Passive cooling of porous tile used on outer wall envelope

Passive cooling technology is more and more used on building roof, but little on outer wall envelope. The porous tile used on wall envelope is tested under the dry and wet conditions. The result shows the capability of passive cooling in hot summer and cold winter zone is more than 5℃. The simple mathematical model is set up when considering the porous material structure and water evaporation. The simplicity of mathematical model is validated through the comparison between measured and simulated data.
