Ruthenium behaviour in alkali chloride melts

2018
Electrochemical behavior and speciation of ruthenium was investigated in the melts based on alkali chloride eutectic mixtures, i.e. LiCl–KCl and LiCl–KCl–CsCl. Cyclic, square wave and differential pulse voltammetry were employed to study electrochemical processes in ruthenium containing melts and electronic absorption spectroscopy was used to assess ruthenium speciation. Electrode potentials of ruthenium were determined in LiCl–KCl–CsCl based melts using potentiometry measurements.
