The Electronic Structure of ZrZn2

We have measured the normal incidence reflectivity of the weakly ferromagnetic cubic Laves phase compound ZrZn 2 and a sample of the related ternary system ZrCu 2− x Al x from 0.2 to 5 eV. Both of the samples exhibit rather similar reflectivity spectra with prominent features appearing near 0.8 and 3 eV. The data were Kramers‐Kronig analyzed and the complex dielectric function calculated. Comparison to the recent model of Koelling, et al. is given.
