The invention relates to a system for controlling one with an electric servomotor (4) equipped actuator in a motor vehicle. Using the example of an electromotive steering actuator having electronic steering system are according to the invention by a model-based monitoring device (11A-15A) as a function of desired values ​​of the electric servo-motor (4), of by respective sensors (6, 7, 8) measured actual values ​​(I¶ist¶ , delta¶M, ist¶, delta¶L¶ ') and (the driving state a¶q¶, z.
