Yield and Quality of Valencia Orange As Affected By Gibberellic Acid

1989
Experiment was conducted at Soil Research Experiment Station at Jahrom, 190 km south of Shiraz, to determine the effect of gibberellic acid (GA3) on quality and quantity of Valencia orange plants. GA3 at 0,50 and 100 ppm was sprayed to the plant at pre-bloom, full-bloom and post-bloom. Yield was significantly reduced with all concentrations and times of application. Fruit size, on the other hand, was increased. It was concluded that GAD may reduce flowering of Valencia orange at different stages of flower formation.
