We propose Index of quality for the Residues (IqR) to evaluation of quality for foods. IqR was calculated with the sum of the ratio of pesticide residues to Maximum Residue Levels (MRLs). For the fruit and vegetable samples analyzed in the 1994-97 years, was determinated the IqR value for pesticide residues. IqR values may be correlated for quality classes or for quality marks. For pesticide residues, we propose IqR more Restrictive (IqRR) and IqRmedium (IqRm) too. The Global Quality for foods was determinated with Global IqR. sum of IqR for pesticide residues, for additives, for heavy metal residues and for other substances residues.
