Following in the Footsteps of Ronald G. Douglas

Many of you knew my father Ronald Douglas as a mentor, a collaborator or a colleague. While I never wrote a paper with him, he was a powerful influence on my own career. Some of my most important works, such as those on Dirichlet branes and noncommutative geometry, turned out to have strong connections with his work. In this talk I will reminisce a bit and describe a few of these works and connections.
