AN INVESTIGATION INTO THE PREPOTTING OF ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS

An investigation was conducted into the contact splaying action due to lacing of cables on prepotted versus nonprepotted resilient insert connectors with pin protectors installed. This investigation demonstrated that the percentage of out-of-tolerance contacts is significantly smaller in the prepotted connector. (auth)
