PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To distinguish between the concentration of carbon dioxide generated by metabolism of organisms and the amount of leakage of the concentration of carbon dioxide forced in the ground and force an appropriate amount of carbon dioxide in the ground. SOLUTION: The presence or absence of leakage of carbon dioxide is evaluated by measuring apparent oxygen utilization by metabolism of organisms in a chamber 2, measuring the concentration of carbon dioxide in the chamber, and computing the balance between the apparent oxygen utilization by metabolism of organisms and the concentration of carbon dioxide.
