An important target for the treatment of human diseases: tyrosine hydroxylase

Catecholamine plays an important regulatory role in human body as neurotransmitter and hormone. Tyrosine hydroxylase is the rate-limiting enzyme in the synthesis of catecholamine in human body. Clinical multidisciplinary diseases are related to its abnormal expression and function. Therefore, tyrosine hydroxylase has become the focus of basic and clinical medical research. The author reviewed the structure, role, and regulation mechanism of tyrosine hydroxylase, and focused on summarizing the progress of the research and treatment of tyrosine hydroxylase related diseases at home and abroad.
