ARCO DE MAGUEREZ E EDUCAÇÃO EM SAÚDE SOBRE DEPRESSÃO EM ESCOLARES: RELATO DE EXPERIÊNCIA

2021
Introduction: Depression, estimated in about 30 million cases worldwide, may be linked to family problems, low educational and socioeconomic levels and is associated with an increased risk of early mortality from suicide. Health education is an important health promotion tool, defined as a set of practices that contribute to increasing the autonomy of people in their care. Objective: Report the experience of academics on the implementation of health education practices on depression in students from a public school in the interior of Sergipe. Methods: This is an experience report of academics from the Federal University of Sergipe – Campus Lagarto, where an intervention was carried out in a public elementary school. The Arc is divided into five phases: observation of reality, discussion of key points, theorization, elaboration of solution hypotheses and application to reality. Results and Impacts: The dynamics of presentation, crumpled paper, anguish and comfort and conversation circles were well accepted by the students, as everyone effectively participated in the entire teaching-learning process. The teacher was a key player in carrying out the interventions, as the age group of the students was 11 to 13 years old, who were quite restless. Conclusion: It can be concluded that health education activities related to mental health elaborated by Arco de Maguerez are low-cost tools, give satisfactory results and can be implemented by any health professional in health promotion interventions.
