The quasiparticle lifetime at the mobility edge
1991
The author calculates the temperature dependence of the inelastic scattering rate at the mobility edge in a disordered system in which diffusion is characterized by a wavevector and frequency dependence, and compare it with that obtained when only conventional diffusion occurs. The author finds that the inelastic scattering rate exhibits a linear temperature dependence in both cases. He discusses this result in the context of low-temperature transport measurements in integral quantum Hall samples and point out certain theoretical inconsistencies which need to be resolved.
