Weltweiter Erfahrungsaustausch: Einbindung der VGB-Gremien in Netzwerke am Beispiel des Forsmark-Ereignisses

2009
One major component of the work in nuclear VGB units is the exchange of experience about events in one's own plants, but also the focus on events in plants abroad. This includes early and efficient collection and processing of information about such potentially safety-related events. The event at the Swedish Forsmark-1 nuclear generating unit in July 2006 (unavailability for some time of 2 out of 4 redundancies of the emergency power supply system due to an external grid fault) is used as an example to show how operators of nuclear power plants in Germany checked, in a concerted action, whether the occurrence of a scenario like Forsmark-1 could affect components of their emergency power systems. An extensive R&D program was initiated for this purpose. The transferability exercise showed that non-availability can be safely excluded. This finding was examined in depth by authorities and experts consultants and confirmed.
