Numerical Analysis of Hydrodynamic Interaction for AUH and Mother Ship in Different Regular Wave Directions

A new type of dish-shaped AUV (autonomous underwater vehicle) named AUH (autonomous underwater helicopter) was analyzed to achieve better hydrodynamic performance when the AUH was launched by the mother ship. Three-dimensional potential flow theory is used to analyze the hydrodynamic interaction between the new type ocean engineering ship and the AUH in regular waves. The engineering ship was a modified medium-size Polish container ship B-573, which was carrying with a Pram-stern. In this paper, when the AUH was placed beside the mother ship and away from the mother ship, the comparison of two values were carried out, and frequency domain, time domain in different regular wave directions of AUH and mother ship were compared and analyzed to discover the influence of hydrodynamic interaction.
