Characterization of nanoparticles using nano-analytical techniques

2021
Abstract Nanotechnology is a rapidly growing area in the world making a variety of materials and devices for many applications. The nanoparticles were synthesized by physical, chemical, and biological approaches. The physical and chemical methods are more expensive, highly toxic, and cause environmental pollution. However, the biological method has several advantages such as nontoxic, cost-effective, and ecofriendly. This chapter provides the detailed characterization of biogenic nanoparticles using morphological analysis (scanning electron microscope, transmission electron microscope), and structural analysis (X-ray powder diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy). In addition, energy dispersive X-ray is used to identify the elemental composition of nanomaterials.
