A ball circulating type electric power steering gear for an electric passenger car belongs to the technical field of steering gears, and particularly relates to a ball circulating type electric power steering gear for pure electric passenger cars or large-tonnage vehicles. The left side of a steering gear casing is fixedly connected with the right side of a speed reducer casing (2); the input end of a ball circulating type mechanical steering gear penetrates into a speed reducer from the right side; the output end of a steering transmission shaft (7) penetrates into the speed reducer from the left side and is mechanically connected with the input end of the ball circulating type mechanical steering gear. The ball circulating type electric power steering gear is characterized in that a sensor is a BI torque sensor capable of simultaneously outputting torque signals and turning angle signals, and is fixedly mounted at the joint of the output end of the steering transmission shaft (7) and the input end of the ball circulating type mechanical steering gear in a sleeving manner; a motor (17) is a brushless DC motor. The ball circulating type electric power steering gear has the advantages of flexible steering, light weight and portability, low energy consumption and the like, meets requirements of large-tonnage vehicles, and is stable in dynamic performance.
