Review of the technologies for development the inflatable brake device for deorbiting the space objects

The work analyzes the potential application of an inflatable braking device for deorbiting the space objects. The concept of such a device is examined, and the benefits and disadvantages of different configurations of the inflatable braking devices are considered. The basic physical parameters related to the design of inflatable braking devices and spacecraft using these devices are considered, namely: mass calculation, estimation of orbital release time, description of materials used to create the shell, and description of the supercharging system. A comparison of different configurations of inflatable braking devices is conducted. Conclusions on the possibility of application of inflatable braking devices for deorbiting space objects were made.
