COMPOSTAGEM DE RESÍDUOS SÓLIDOS COMPOSTING OF SOLID WASTE

Residues are the result of processes of various activities of the community of origin industrial, domestic, hospital, commercial, agricultural, services and even sweeping the public. The residue is present in solid, liquid and gaseous. Produced at all stages of human activities, waste, both in terms of composition and volume, vary according to the practices of consumption and production methods. To solve the problems involving solid waste, such as improper disposal in landfills that contaminate soil and water saturation, and landfills, it is necessary to adopt the integrated management of solid waste that include reducing the generation of these, reuse, recycling of materials which can serve as raw material and the compost that is the organic residue, giving this new utility. Given the problem of solid waste disposal procedures in various industries, agro-industries and domestic environment of deposition in untreated soil and pollute water sources, the possible transmission of diseases and the search for alternative waste treatment, objective with this work in addition to environmental preservation, evaluation and study of the composting process as a method of treating solid waste.
