Am(II–VII) species in aqueous solutions and mechanisms of reactions involving them

Published data on the structure of americium ions in aqueous solutions are analyzed. The hydrolysis of americium ions, their complexation with certain inorganic and organic anions, disproportionation, and reactions with oxidants and reductants are considered.
