Influence of Psychological Nursing for Preoperative Surgical Stress of Patients with Rheumatic Heart Valve Replacement

2013
Objective To explore the influence of psychological nursing for preoperative surgical stress of patients with rheumatic heart valve replacement. Methods 60 patients with rheumatic heart disease in our hospital from January 2010 to January 2013 were randomly divided into the study group and the control group, with 30 cases in each group. On the basis of routine nursing, the patients in the study group were given with psychological nursing, while the patients in the control group were not given with psychological nursing. The preoperative psychological and physiological stress changes of the two groups were compared. Results No significant difference before nursing had between the two groups (P0.05), but both groups were significantly improved after nursing, and the improvement of anxiety in the study group was better than that of the control group (P0.01). The blood glucose and plasma cortisol levels of the study group were significantly lower than those of the control group (P0.05). Conclusions Psychological nursing is effective in preventing and relieving the preoperative psychological and physiological stress response in rheumatic heart disease patients with heart valve replacement and in reducing the surgical risk.
