Biobleaching and enzymatic modification of wheat straw pulps

2001
To treat unbleached wheat straw pulp with xylanases can result in a decrease in chlorine usage or an increase in brightness of the pulp. To treat bleached wheat straw pulp with cellulase and hemicellulase can remarkably improve such characteristics of the pulp as drainage, fragility, physical strength and brightness. The industrial experiment shows that the technologies are both economically and environmentally attractive.
