DIAGNÓSTICO DOS RESGATES DE JACARÉS NA REGIÃO METROPOLIANA DO RECIFE, PERNAMBUCO

Urban growth increasingly provides an overlapping of areas between fauna and human, which can lead to situations with potential risk of accident. Therefore, this research aims to record rescues and releases of Caiman latirostris in Metropolitan Region of Recife by the competent fauna agencies. Between 2010 and 2014, 352 individuals were rescued, with information from the rescue site in 58,3% of notifications and 5% with the release site record. The number of registered Caiman shows a positive correlation with rainfall, wich explain 67,8% in the variation in the number of rescues reported. In general, information of rescues, releases and the caiman spatial and temporal relationships in their habitat should provide data for the development of management and conservation plans for the species in the studied region.
