Clinical significance and expression of long chain noncoding RNA LINC00261 in human gastric carcinoma

2017
Objective To investigate the clinical significance of long chain noncoding RNA LINC00261 in human gastric carcinoma. Methods 72 pairs of human gastric cancer and matched normal gastric tissue were collected, and LINC00261 were detected by real-time fluorescent quantitative polymerase chain reaction (FQ-PCR). The relation of between LINC00261 expression and patient’s sex, age, tumor location, tumor diameter, histological differentiation, depth of tumor invasion, lymph node transfer shift, distant metastasis, TNM staging, vascular tumor thrombus and five-year survival rate was analyzed, respectively. Results Compared with matched normal tissues, LINC00261 is low-expression in gastric cancer. The expression rate of LINC00261 in 72 pairs of gastric carcinoma was 76.38% (55/72), while the expression rate of LINC00261 in normal gastric tissues was 2.78% (2/72). The difference is very significant (χ2=81.568, P=0.000). The results showed that LINC00261 expression was not significantly correlated with the patient gender (χ2=0.066, P=0.936), age (χ2=0.000, P=0.988), tumor location (χ2=1.332, P=0.722), tumor diameter (χ2=2.037, P=0.154), histological differentiation (χ2=0.701, P=0.704), and distant metastasis (χ2=0.003, P=0.955) had no significant correlation, but was significantly correlated with tumor invasion depth (χ2=9.519, P=0.023), lymph node metastasis (χ2=9.577, P=0.023), TNM staging (χ2=13.299, P=0.004) , tumor thrombus (χ2=5.318, P=0.021), and five-year survival rate (χ2=6.237, P=0.013), respectively. Conclusion LINC00261 might be one of the important targets in the diagnosis and treatment of gastric cancer. Key words: Gastric carcinoma; Long chain noncoding RNA; LINC00261; Significance
