Method and apparatus for producing a coated support member

The present invention relates to methods for producing a coated support member and an embossing tool for carrying out the method. In a first step a carrier material is introduced into a cavity of a molding die tool. Then, the molding die tool for forming a gap flooding on an enlarged cavity is set into which a flooding material is introduced. Subsequently, an embossing step is carried out, in which the enlarged cavity for embossing the flooding material is reduced. According to the invention, the flooding material is introduced at a position of the embossing tool into the cavity, which lies in the later product in a non-visible range of the installed product. Furthermore, the embossing tool is in a range in which heated forming shrink during the hardening process column of the carrier element.
