Mastering the procedure for selective non-catalytic reduction of nitrogen oxides in the flue gases by means of ammonia at the Tolyatti cogeneration power station

Information is given about the design and the performance tests on a full-scale pilot plant for cleaning flue gases using the method of selective non-catalytic reduction (SNCR) of nitrogen oxides by means of ammonia. The object was the TP-87 boiler at the Tolyatti cogeneration power station that is fired with Kuznetsk coal and natural gas. It is shown that the capital expenditures for the equipment of the pilot plant are about the same as required for implementing furnace methods in suppressing nitrogen oxides.
