Electrochemical Syntheses of Sodium Percarbonate in Aqueous Solution

Sodium percarbonate is a nontoxic, environmentally safe, and biodegradable bleaching agent used in laundry detergents, tooth paste, and other products. It leaves no persistent residues to harm the environment as it is composed of only sodium, carbonate and oxygen, which is the active substance (1,2). These attractive properties have led the applications for sodium percarbonate to increase considerably in the last decade.
