PENGEMBANGAN EDIBLE FILM KOMPOSIT BERBASIS PATI GANYONG DENGAN PENAMBAHAN MINYAK SAWIT MERAH DAN EKSTRAK DAUN KENIKIR (Cosmos caudatus)

2020
The purpose of this study was to determine the physical, chemical and functional characteristics of edible composite starch film of canna starch with the addition of red palm oil and kenikir leaf extract (Cosmos caudatus), which was carried out from October 2019 to June 2020 at the Laboratory of Agricultural Product Chemistry and Microbiology Laboratory General of the Department of Agricultural Technology, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya, South Sumatra. This study used a Factorial Complete Randomized Design (RALF) with two treatment factors and each treatment combination was repeated 3 times. Factor A is the addition of palm oil treatment consisting of 3 levels of concentration, Factor B is the treatment of adding kenikir leaf extract consisting of 3 levels of concentration. The parameters observed included physical analysis (thickness, percent elongation, water vapor transmission rate, hardness, chemical analysis (total phenol, water content, and antioxidant activity as well as microbiological analysis). The results of this study showed A2B2 treatment (red palm oil concentration 1% and kenikir leaf extract 2%) is the best treatment for all parameters of edible film.
