Alveolar Ridge Augmentation Using Lingual Tori

2010
gional neck dissection for the treatment of melanoma is controversial, particularly in the clinically negative neck. 6,12 In 4 of the 5 cases the patient died less than 1 year after the diagnosis of metastatic melanoma. In the fifth case, the patient died within 2 years. Metastatic melanoma to the mandible is rare. We presented the case of a 56-year-old man with a melanoma metastatic to the anterior mandible treated with a segmental resection, as well as a tracheostomy, and who immediately underwent reconstruction by use of a vascularized free fibula flap. The patient is alive and well, without any evidence of this disease.
