Influence of the Phase Composition of the Layers Deposited on the Rods of Hydraulic Cylinders on Their Local Corrosion

2015
We study the influence of phase composition of the rods of hydraulic cylinders fused from the cored wires on their local corrosion. We investigate the corrosion resistance of deposited layers in a 3% NaCl solution at room temperature and the influence of their phase composition on the character of corrosion defects. It is shown that the layers deposited from cored wires with a chromium content of 14–20 wt.% are characterized by strong local striplike corrosion whose intensity depends on the phase composition of the layer. It is also demonstrated that the corrosion resistance of the austenitic matrix increases with the ferrite content in the structure of layers,.
