Microwave Radiation Research on Dewater Characteristics of Municipal Sewage Sludge

2009
This thesis focuses on microwave treatment dehydration experiments on sewage sludge sampled from the Xiannu River waste water treatment plant and northern waste water treatment plant. The thesis analyzes the material property, radiation intensity and duration, and also the influential elements on the rate of additive dehydration. It was found that the percentage of sewage in the sludge was the most influential factor for dehydration, and the percentage of organisms was still very high after the microwave treatment.Radiation was the most important factor of all,and the result of dewatering was good at 2-5 min radiation time even at 540 W.Suitable dewatering results were reached using 540-900 W radiation. The greatest loss of organisms occurred at 900 W,with loss reaching 65.64%.The additives did not have positive effects on the dehydration of sludge. However, they could change the properties of the sludge after dehydration. At the same time, the grey relative analysis method was employed to calculate the relative degree to identify the primary and secondary elements that impacted the microwave experimental system. Finally, the empirical formula for dehydration rate and the loss of organism was obtained through the stepwise regression analysis method.
