Hospital Information System Integrated Laboratories

Regarding our Cantonal University Hospital of Geneva, with 2000 beds and 4500 employees in the 1970’s, the main issue was how to deal with more inpatients with the same resources and the same staffing as before, by making the best possible use of working time by means of a powerful computerised hospital information system (1).
