Influence of the size of quantum dot on fluorescence resonance energy transfer between quantum dots and au nanoparticles

2014
The most promising application of quantum dots (QDs) is to high throughput quantitative biological information processing because of their advantages with the different emissions for single excitation wavelength. A facile method is presented to integrate Au nanoparticles with QDs for constructing QDs@Au composite nanostructures by electrostatic interaction, in which the Au nanoparticles are synthesized with sodium citrate. Based on this composite structure, the influence of the size of QDs on the FRET efficiency is researched. These results demonstrate that the QDs are effective donors in multi-homogeneous immune-assay based on FRET.
