Diagnostic benefit of cytological examination for cervical small cell neuroendocrine carcinoma (SMCC): A retrospective analysis of clinicopathological variables and cytological findings.

SMCC is a rare and highly aggressive malignant neoplasm.[1,2] In the present study, clinical findings from 13 patients with SMCC who were treated at NHO Kyushu Cancer Center between January 1997 and December 2019 were retrospectively analyzed. Approval by the local Institutional Review Board was granted for this study. Cytological findings were re-evaluated for preparation of this study. The median patient age was 46 years (range, 33-68 years).
