The paper tends to perceive the concept and function of scientific information, the possible types of scientific information (primary and secondary), the media of presenting scientific information (printed and electronic) and the skill of finding information as a dimension of a communicative competence in the professional teacher development. Special attention is paid to the use of computers and the Internet, as well as to the teacher's ability to use the e-data bases. .
