CT Features of Multilocular Cystic Renal Cell Carcinoma

2006
Objective:To explore the imaging features of multilocular cystic renal cell carcinoma and diagnostic value of CT.Methods:13 cases of multilocular cystic renal cell carcinoma confirmed by pathology were retrospectively studied based on the CT imaging data. Results:In the group there were 8 lesions in the right kidney and 5 in the left kidney. The longer axis of multilocular cystic renal cell carcinoma varied from 4mm to 25mm,with an average of 13 mm.These lesions were composed of multiple cysts and septa, with mural nodule in 5 cases and calcification in 2 cases. The cystic wall, septa and mural nodule were enhanced. Conclusion:The multilocular cystic renal cell carcinoma has certain CT characteristics. The CT can play an important role in the diagnosis of multilocular cystic renal cell carcinoma, but the imaging features are not specific enough for differentiation.
