Group Technology - An Overview and Bibliography.

Abstract : Using commonly asked questions regarding the adoption of Group Technology systems in manufacturing, an introductory overview is presented. Basic principles are explored, and various aspects such as classification and coding, industrial applications, relationships to NC and CAM, management, human factors and economics are examined. A selected bibliography containing 480 references to literature published in the years 1955-1975 is provided to aid in the location of more detailed information. Subject access is included.
