Divulgando fisiologia na escola: ênfase nos benefícios da atividade física

Health education strategies can benefit the education of citizens able to intervene to improve individual and/or collective health status. Considering the importance of physiology to understanding the functioning and organization of our body in different situations, it is important to introduce physiology notions to children, so they can understand, for example, the changes and adaptations that occur by practicing physical exercises, as well as the benefits of this practice. In this sense, this article aims at reporting the impact of actions promoted to disclose and popularize Physiology, emphasizing the physiological effects and benefits of physical activity for health, with students from public primary and secondary education. We found that the actions allowed an approximation between school/community and university. In addition, they contributed to the understanding of the physiological processes and benefits of physical activity for health. The actions constituted a form of knowledge construction and helped in learning and promoting health education in school. In addition, the actions contribute to the training of the undergraduate students involved.
