Central Dogma Analysis Kit

2010
The central dogma analysis tool kit (CD’KIT) was developed to provide the biomedical community with an easy desktop access to different bioinformatics tools and additional database to provide complete information on genes. The developed project provides almost every tool that is required for the analysis of central dogma regarding DNA, RNA, and Protein. The analysis of biological information at these three levels requires a lot of package tools simultaneously for the exact interpretation of huge amount of genome sequence data. CD’KIT comprises three layers, including basic database layer, middle java and biojava capabilities and the user interface. Central dogma analysis browser is built on top of extensible, reusable graphics components specifically designed for bioinformatics. Other groups can use this software in different applications. The functionalities included in software are; calculating number and percentage of nucleotide bases and amino acids, start codons, AT, GC contents, drawing pie and bar charts, transcription, translation, constructing complementary and reverse complementary sequences, performing local and global alignments. In addition to this software has the capability to show the structural information of proteins, if a PDB file is provided. Structure annotation features include are; the multiple structure formats, labeling and coloring of elements, atoms and aminoacids, rotation, simulation and zooming effects.
