Clinical features and treatment of 63 cases of severe H1N1 influenza A infection

Objective To investigate the clinical features and treatment experience of severe H1N1 influenza A cases.Methods 63 cases of severe H1N1 influenza hospitalized in Shanghai Public Health Center(2009.9-2010.3) were involved in this study.We observed and compared their epidemiological information and clinical features.Clinical data was reviewed by descriptive epidemiological statistics.Results In addition to significant hypoxemia,patients also showed obvious systemic symptoms,indicators of multiple organ abnormalities and immune dysfunction,and easily combined with secondary bacterial or fungal infection.We treated them by using anti-virus,anti-bacterial,to improve symptoms and have supportive treatment.Most of the patient′s condition improved.Conclusions Severe H1N1 influenza patients showed rapid progression,widespread lung lesion,severe secondary bacterial or fungal infection and refractory hypoxemia.Early detection,comprehensive treatment as early as possible,is the key to successful treatment.
