Light Modulation by a Small Pennate Diatom Valve: The Case of Gomphonema parvulum

In this work, interaction with light was demonstrated for the first time for the valve of a small pennate diatom through numerical calculations. The results show that light is effectively modulated by the valve's microstructure.
