Analysis of detection for influenza from 2009 to 2010 in Dalian city

Objective:To analyze the data from surveillance of influenza virus in Dalian from 2009 to 2010 and to explore the epidemic pattern and relationship between the novel influenza A(H1N1) and seasonal influenza.Methods: The swabs collected from influenza-like patients in 2 national surveillance hospitals were detected by Real-time RT-PCR.Results: A total of 1867 samples were detected,the positive rate of influenza virus was 19.82%.There was statistics diversity of the positive rate in different age group.From July 2009 to June 2010,there were two peaks of epidemic of influenza in Dalian.The first peak of epidemic of the novel influenza A(H1N1) virus appeared from October to November in 2009 while the second one of epidemic of B type of influenza virus occurred in February in 2010.Conclusion:The school students and youths were the prominent population stricken by influenza virus from 2009 to 2010 in Dalian.The epidemic strain of seasonal influenza virus was B type.The novel influenza A(H1N1) had not affected the epidemiologic characteristics of seasonal influenza in Dalian.
