Análisis comparativo de los contenidos de Ciencias de la Información de la Universidad Central “Marta Abreu” de Las Villas y el Movimiento iSchools.

A comparative study was carried out with the purpose of analyzing the contents of the specialty of Information Sciences at the Central University "Marta Abreu" of Las Villas (UCLV) and its correspondence with the iSchools Movement. The comparison method was applied and content analysis and clusters analysis were used as techniques. The results reflected the strong relationship between the contents of the UCLV and those of the iSchools of the Librarianship and Documentation Department of the Carlos III University of Madrid, in Spain. It is reaffirmed that the Spanish model constitutes an important reference for our country. The content of the disciplines of Records, Information and Knowledge Management and Research in Information Sciences are the most dissimilar according to the iSchools Movement, which shows how distant is the UCLV from the iSchools movement.
