Risk Analysis for Flood and Drought Disasters and Sustainable Development of Agriculture in Guangdong Province

Flood and drought are severe natural disasters in history and restrict the agriculture production and the development of society and economy.The causes and characteristics of flood and drought in Guangdong province are analyzed.Based on the data in 1950～2002,the risk of flood and drought disasters in Guangdong province are assessed by information diffusion,a curve picture of flood and drought probability in Guangdong Province is sketched.Finally,measures of reducing agricultural disasters in Guangdong is put forward,namely adjusting the agriculture distribution and crop planting structure,taking the measures of tending to benefit and avoiding disasters,introducing effective technology of disaster reduction,improving eco-environment of agriculture,intensifying disaster awareness and enhancing capability of disaster prevention and reduction.
