Thermal analysis of W VII-AS limiter system and presentation of a graphite-block concept

A 2D-finite element thermal analysis of the initial W VII-AS limiter system has been performed and is discussed. Further to this analysis a graphite block concept is presented. This concept has been numerically analyzed for applications as a limiter in plasma and nuclear fusion experimental devices. The results are described in this paper.
