ON THE TRIANGULATION OF THE TITANIUM-CARBON-MOLYBDENUM SYSTEM
1961
An investigation was carried out on the triangulation of the titanium- carbon-molybdenum system, employing the method of intersecting sections in conjunction with metallographic and roentgenographic methods. The trend of various reactions in the Ti-C-Mo system was evaluated on the basis of the data in the literature. The results obtained furnished a basis for the conclusion that the TiCMo section of the ternary titanium- carbon-molybdenum system is quasibinary. The conclusion was drawn that it is necessary to revise the boundary of the phase fields in the isothermal diagram of the titanium- carbonmolybdenum system proposed by Albert and Norton. (auth)
